Imagine...each generation had to build their own homes and they received from their parents a tool kit to get them started..hammers
and nails, saws and lathes and many more. To build the house these tools are essential, but they are neither the plan
of the house, nor its blueprint. They are inherited just like genes; and just like these inherited tools, so genes are tools
for making essential building blocks and other tools and machines in the form of proteins. Genes are part of the machinery
for making proteins, they are not the blueprint. Even with the unravelling of the 'human genome', it remains a mystery how
these genes are orchestrated in the building and function of new life. In this sense the mystery is the greater for our new
knowledge.
Imagine..we had all the jumbled up words of Shakespeare's Hamlet, would we understand this remarkable play?
